Matthew McConaughey‘s biggest payday may not be what fans expect. Although he has enjoyed several major paydays throughout his career, one movie continues to earn him money years after its release.
Many of McConaughey’s films have performed well at the box office while also enjoying lasting popularity among fans. However, McConaughey revealed that no other film has earned him as much as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days has.
“How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is the gift that keeps on giving. I think it’s probably my favorite romcom I’ve done. And a lot of people love that romcom. And it still pays the best mailbox money film I’ve ever done,” said the 56-year-old American actor during his appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
McConaughey played the role of Benjamin Barry in the 2003 film opposite Kate Hudson as Andie Anderson. In the film, Benjamin is challenged to make a woman fall in love with him. Meanwhile, Andie is assigned to write an article about how to make a man leave a relationship within 10 days. The story follows the two as they unexpectedly fall for each other while trying to carry out their respective schemes.
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is available online on Prime Video, Paramount+ and Apple TV.
