“When y’all complain, it doesn’t make me want to sit down,” Cardi said. She added, “I ain’t doing s—. How about that?” The rapper explained that criticism could make her pull back instead.
Cardi also said her songs would not always share identical visuals. She explained that different releases could have different aesthetics. She admitted she had not been spending much time in the studio lately.

Cardi has continued releasing music despite wanting downtime. She dropped her surprise single “AH HA” on July 31. The song marked her 30th career top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart.
Still, Cardi said she was not interested in rushing her next project. “I told myself I’d take the summer off,” she said. She added, “I’m going to live my best life. I’m all the way outside.”
For now, Cardi appears more interested in enjoying her summer than responding to pressure for another release.
