FX has released the official teaser trailer for American Horror Story 13. The newly released teaser offers cryptic hints about what Season 13 has in store.
Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology series is set to bring back several fan-favorite characters from previous seasons. Sarah Paulson (AHS: Coven), Jessica Lange (AHS: Murder House), and Evan Peters (AHS: Cult) are among the returning stars, alongside famous villains Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch) and Rubber Man (Peters).

What happens in AHS 13’s trailer?
The AHS: 13 teaser uses Snow Wife’s 2023 song American Horror Show in the background. The teaser begins with haunting visuals accompanied by an eerie musical backdrop. The footage maintains an unsettling, abstract visual style that fits the franchise’s traditionally cryptic atmosphere. Later, Sarah Paulson’s character appears in front of a mirror as the words “wicked, wicked” are repeatedly whispered. Alongside Paulson, Lange, Peters, and Lynch, several other stars from previous seasons are set to return in Season 13. Angela Bassett and Emma Roberts will be reprising their roles as Marie Laveau and Madison Montgomery from AHS: Coven, respectively. The ensemble also includes Mena Suvari, Jamie Brewer, Gabourey Sidibe, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari, and more.
Reflecting on the upcoming season, series co-creator Ryan Murphy told Variety, “I know which (seasons) the fans liked the most. They love ‘Murder House,’ ‘Asylum,’ ‘Coven,’ ‘Freak Show,’ and they loved ‘Cult’. Some of the actors will be playing two characters from two different seasons in the same scene.”
The first season premiered in October 2011 and is commonly known as Murder House. As an anthology, the show has traditionally changed its characters and settings from season to season.
American Horror Story 13 will premiere on FX and Hulu on September 24, 2026
