A familiar face from the Reacher universe is finally stepping into the spotlight, and fans are already buzzing. The Neagley trailer has sparked a wave of excitement online, with netizens praising the character’s long-awaited solo adventure and calling the spinoff a promising change of pace from the main series.
Prime Video’s Reacher fans are excited for Neagley after new trailer
Frances Neagley was always more than just Jack Reacher’s backup, and now she gets her own shot. Maria Sten returns as the fan-favorite character in the eight-episode Prime Video series, which premieres September 16, 2026, following the Reacher Season 4 finale. Alan Ritchson will also reprise Jack Reacher in a guest role.
The trailer has clearly hit a nerve on X (formerly Twitter), where fans quickly shared their excitement. One viewer called Neagley a favorite character and said they “cannot wait” for the series.
Another welcomed the spinoff with an enthusiastic “F— yeah!” while saying that Neagley feels more interesting because she operates in a moral gray area. A separate fan simply admitted they were “REALLY looking forward” to it.
The story puts Neagley in Chicago, where she works as a private investigator after serving alongside Reacher in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. When a close friend dies in what appears to be a suspicious accident, Neagley refuses to let the mystery slide. She launches her own investigation and follows a dangerous trail toward a larger threat.
Unlike the main Reacher seasons, the spinoff does not adapt one of Lee Child’s novels. Instead, Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton developed an original mystery-thriller story, with Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios producing. The cast also includes Greyston Holt, Jasper Jones, Adeline Rudolph, Matthew Del Negro and Damon Herriman.
Sten has also teased the project herself. After filming wrapped in June 2025, she wrote on Instagram that the story was “so so special” and promised viewers a “wild” ride. With Reacher returning to the picture, fans now have another reason to keep their eyes glued to Prime Video.
