A royal expert believes King Charles may have had royal staff send Meghan Markle a birthday card. The Duchess celebrated her 45th birthday on August 4. However, there were no public birthday wishes for Markle from the royal family on social media. Despite that, experts believe Charles may have made a “discreet gesture” behind the scenes, saying it would be in keeping with his character.

Kinsey Schofield, a royal expert, believes that King Charles could have discreetly sent a birthday card to Meghan Markle. The Duchess celebrated her birthday on August 4 with a fun-packed day at her home in California. She shared two black-and-white photos on her social media handle, offering glimpses of the celebration. Markle captioned the post, “Thank you for the birthday love!”
The royal family did not publicly acknowledge her birthday. Royal commentator Tom Sykes told Page Six that birthday wishes for a private citizen are not made publicly. He added that there was no chance of a birthday message or photograph being posted on the royal family’s social media accounts.
According to another royal expert, Schofield, official birthday wishes are reserved for working royals. Since the Sussexes are no longer working royals, they do not receive public birthday wishes from the Palace. However, both experts firmly believe that some members of the royal family may have reached out to the Duchess privately to wish her a happy birthday.
Sykes added that Charles is very polite, saying he is certain the monarch would have sent birthday wishes to his daughter-in-law. Meanwhile, Schofield also believes he may have asked Palace staff to send her a birthday card or a gift.
She continued, “Charles has always had a compassionate streak, and despite everything that’s happened, he has rarely gone out of his way to be overtly unkind toward Meghan. A discreet gesture would be entirely in keeping with his character.”
However, according to both experts, it’s highly unlikely that Markle received any wishes from Prince William and Kate Middleton.
