Puka Nacua’s civil lawsuit has taken another surprising turn. Reportedly, the plaintiff, Madison Atiafi, has questioned Nacua’s timing of challenging a key witness deposition.

Puka Nacua challenges a witness deposition in court
According to TMZ Sports, Matiabi had asked the judge to allow a key witness to testify remotely. However, the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver has sought to postpone the deposition of witness Zoey Harvey.
Atiabi has claimed that Harvey had witnessed the biting incident and took one of the first photographs of the bite mark that Nacua left on her shoulder.
Atiabi has questioned the timeline, arguing that Nacua’s legal team had 17 days ‘ notice and objected only days before the deposition was to take place. Nacua’s team claimed the postponement was due to a scheduling conflict with one of the defense lawyers. Atiabi has expressed skepticism, noting that the witness had already adjusted her full-time job and graduate school commitments to testify on the previously decided day.
Nacua’s attorneys have denied allegations of avoiding the deposition. According to them, the earlier date was fixed without consulting them. They have asked the judge to reschedule it for the weekend or after September 7.
The legal dispute stems from Atiabi’s lawsuit in March. She claimed that Nacua had bitten her and made an antisemitic remark during a New Year’s Eve gathering. Reportedly, Nacua said, “F*** all the Jews” at that time. While Nacua has admitted to the bite, he has claimed that it was during consensual horseplay. His attorneys have said that there were no witnesses for the alleged remark.
According to Atiabi’s lawsuit, the bite left a physical mark on her shoulders. This initially made her file for a restraining order, which she dropped to concentrate on the civil lawsuit. The allegations remain unproven, and the case is ongoing.
