Donald Trump to Meet Benjamin Netanyahu During DC Trip for Lindsey Graham’s Funeral

Benjamin Netanyahu is set to travel to Washington for meetings with Donald Trump. The Israeli Prime Minister will also attend Lindsey Graham’s funeral service. Netanyahu’s office confirmed the visit was made at Trump’s invitation.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s Washington agenda includes Donald Trump talks and a final farewell to Lindsey Graham

Reports from The Washington Times suggest Netanyahu plans to depart Israel on Monday for his Washington visit. He is scheduled to meet Trump at the White House on Tuesday. Netanyahu will also attend the funeral service for Senator Lindsey Graham. The longtime Republican senator was a strong supporter of Israel.

The meeting comes during a critical period involving the ongoing Iran war. Trump and Netanyahu launched joint strikes against Iran on February 28. The military action aimed to prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon. The conflict has since involved attacks, economic disruptions, and peace negotiations.

Critics have accused Netanyahu of pushing Trump toward military action against Iran. Trump has rejected those claims and said he made his own decision. The president has also threatened further strikes if Iran refuses serious negotiations. He has demanded lasting peace and restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program.

The upcoming meeting could allow Trump and Netanyahu to discuss their shared concerns about Iran. Their talks may also address ongoing diplomatic efforts and regional security. Both leaders face pressure over the conflict and its broader consequences for stability across the Middle East.

Netanyahu’s visit will also coincide with Graham’s funeral at Washington National Cathedral. Trump, Netanyahu, lawmakers, and other dignitaries are expected to attend. Graham died on July 11, reportedly from an aorta rupture. He had been a longtime national security hawk and supporter of Israel.

Graham also strongly advocated military action during his career. In his final days, he pushed Saudi Arabia to normalise relations with Israel. The effort was connected to Trump’s Abraham Accords initiative. Netanyahu’s attendance will honor Graham’s longstanding relationship with Israel.
