Savannah Guthrie is back on the Today Show, following a studio break-in by an intruder named Andrew Truelove just days earlier. Guthrie joined Sheinelle Jones on the show on July 20 as Jones filled in for Craig Melvin, who was targeted by the intruder recently.

On July 16, the intruder allegedly directed a racial slur at Today co-host Melvin at Rockefeller Center. The incident took place around 9 a.m. ET and was not captured during the broadcast. No injuries were reported.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the intruder entered NBC’s New York City headquarters after getting past security and asked to see meteorologist Al Roker, but could not find him. The intruder allegedly targeted Melvin near the dressing room, where he lunged at the journalist and shouted a racial slur. Security staff stopped and detained the man, and authorities later arrested him.
Melvin and Roker, who were co-hosting with Savannah Guthrie and Dylan Dreyer when the incident occurred, reportedly went on air without mentioning it. The incident also happened the same day Guthrie revealed she was taking a temporary break from her co-anchor role, reports People. She revealed on air that she will take the next “few” weeks off to film a Wordle game show. Savannah revealed that she will take on hosting duties for the game show, with Jimmy Fallon serving as executive producer. However, the 54-year-old anchor, whose mother, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing, has returned.
According to the BBC, Nancy was last seen on the night of January 31 after arriving home from dining with family in the Catalina Foothills near Tucson, Arizona. Surveillance footage from her home showed a masked individual, and authorities discovered her blood at the location. However, no suspect has been identified yet. On the other hand, if found guilty, the intruder could face 15 years in prison. His next court hearing is scheduled for July, reports People.
