Trump National Golf Club Racks Up Extensive Food Safety Violations

The Trump National Golf Club was inspected by health officers, and the results were not good. Loudoun County health officials have serious concerns about how food is stored and about insects swarming at the Trump-owned business unit.

Here’s what inspectors found during the restaurant health inspection

According to TMZ, health officials inspected the joint last month and were quick to point out several regulatory failures. On a thorough inspection of the main clubhouse restaurant, snack bar, and club-grill, the officers found a “large quantity of small flies” in the storage room near the employee restrooms.

The officials also pointed out that food was being stored at temperatures above the country health code requirements. The storage conditions did not agree with blue cheese, sausage patties, sausage links, and pasta. Added to what already looked like a messed-up health report, the inspection also revealed that raw steak, fish, and burgers were stored improperly along with ready-to-eat foods such as tortillas and sauces.

The inspector in charge has asked Trump Golf Club to “separate raw animal foods during storage, preparation, holding, and display from ready-to-eat foods,” and club staff “rearranged raw foods below ready-to-eat foods in all cold holding equipment.”

The chemical sanitizer solution that was found at the snack bar’s sink was also revealed to exceed the regulated maximum strength level. Also, the club was using pesticides unsuitable for a food establishment.

Two other Trump-owned clubs, namely Trump National Golf Club Westchester and Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley, both in New York, have also received health citations. The Trump International Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, was also found to be engulfed with flies.

Club officials told NOTUS that the club was being politically targeted and the unfavourable review was proof. It remains to be seen whether follow-up inspections determine that the cited violations have been fully addressed and the club is back in compliance with local health regulations.
