Tyler Perry has responded to new claims in his ongoing legal battle. The filmmaker has denied recent allegations in court. He also accused the said accuser of putting pressure on him for a settlement. The lawsuit is still under trial.

According to TMZ, Perry has filed new court documents this week. This is in response to the claims from Mario Rodriguez. Rodriguez had previously sought sanctions against Perry. This dispute is centred on a planned deposition. Rodriguez has reportedly claimed that Perry had refused to attend the deposition.
Perry has strongly denied the allegations. He shared that he had already agreed to appear for the questioning. Perry also rejected claims about his sexual orientation. He said that he has nothing to hide. “I’m not embarrassed,” Perry said through the filing. He mentioned how the questions were irrelevant.
Perry has claimed that Rodriguez has changed tactics after their settlement talks failed. As per the filing, Perry rejected the multi-million dollar offer. He accused Rodriguez of publicly leaking and using the court filings. Perry feels these things are being done to damage his reputation.
The filmmaker has faced questions about his sexual orientation. Perry argues that the questions rely on harmful stereotypes. He said his orientation has no connection to the assault allegations. Perry even argued that the questions have nothing to do with the claims before the court. His attorneys have requested that the court reject Rodriguez’s request.
Perry also requested that sanctions be put against Rodriguez. He asked the court to award $7,300. His legal team accused Rodriguez of abusing the discovery rules for self-gain. The judge has not ruled on anything publicly yet.
Rodriguez sued Perry for $77 million earlier this year. He has accused the filmmaker of sexual assault. Perry has constantly denied these claims. Both sides are disputing the claims in the ongoing court filings. The lawsuit is still in progress.
