King Charles reportedly feels “disappointed and upset” with Meghan Markle’s recent actions. The King once shared a close bond with his youngest daughter-in-law; however, their relationship is reportedly not as solid as before. Notably, this latest tension has made the possibility of a permanent, long-term reconciliation even slimmer than before.

While King Charles and Queen Camilla recently hosted Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children for a private gathering at Highgrove House, the underlying tension within the family has not completely dissolved. Although the family successfully made the trip to Britain, marking their first joint visit since attending Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee and subsequent passing in 2022. However, the logistics leading up to the reunion have left a lingering strain on their relationship (via Express Co).
Due to security concerns, the Duke of Sussex eventually decided to travel solo. As per the reports shared, Markle is reportedly unhappy with how the security situation was handled. A source shared with Rob Shuter: “This was one insult too many. Meghan feels they’ve bent over backwards for Harry’s family, only to be embarrassed again. As far as she’s concerned, she’ll never see them again.”
Moreover, former royal butler Grant Harrold stated that the Suits star’s return to the UK could have signaled a turning point for her. Harrold dished: “This trip could have been a big turning point for Meghan, as it could have been a huge step in terms of relations between her and the royals.”
He continued: “A private, in-person meeting with her in-laws was the next positive step on their path to fix the upset. It also could have done wonders for her in terms of public perception.”
Harrold explained that unless and until Markle takes a positive step forward and tries to fix things, nothing will change. As per Harrold, the Duchess of Sussex wants to handle her equation with King Charles on her own terms. Hence, if it is not happening as per her wishes, then it is not worth it. “Even if that’s not what they intended, that’s how it’s coming across,” he added.
