A new report suggests that Prince Harry will be joined by Meghan Markle and their children in the UK later this week. This development comes after security concerns had been looming over their royal family reunion. The visit would mark their first trip to the UK in four years.
Meghan Markle, Archie, and Lilibet are reportedly expected to travel to the UK
According to reports, Markle and her children, Archie and Lilibet, are expected to travel to Britain later this week. However, they will not be making any public appearances. Prince Harry arrived alone in the country on Monday, July 6. Ahead of this trip, the Sussexes were enjoying a vacation in Europe.
This news comes amid reports from Mirror UK that King Charles and Prince Harry shared private conversations in recent weeks. The talks reportedly took on a “hopeful tone.” It said that discussions are still ongoing and nothing has been definitely decided. However, the report claimed that the king wants to meet his grandchildren. And if there’s a way to make it happen, he will. The talks between Charles and Harry also reportedly included the possibility of bringing Markle and the kids for one day. Simultaneously, Harry is also said to be “frantically” making security arrangements to ensure a safe trip for him and his family.
Apart from security concerns, Prince Harry’s trip was also met with a last-minute withdrawal of the offer of a stay at Buckingham Palace. The palace staff claimed that he didn’t accept the offer by the given deadline. Therefore, they couldn’t make the accommodation arrangements. In contrast, the Duke of Sussex’s representative argued that he was sorting out security arrangements first before formally accepting the offer. The palace stay drama has since garnered criticism from royal insiders, who called out the palace staffers, also referred to as the “men in gray suits” in Prince Harry’s memoir.
