Justin Baldoni and his wife Emily spoke about Blake Lively’s lawsuit drama in a new Instagram video. Notably, this is the first time the couple has discussed the matter, two years after Lively accused Justin of sexual assault while filming It Ends With Us. The former co-stars reached a settlement with zero payment in early May, weeks before the case was set to go to trial.
Justin Baldoni and his wife address Blake Lively lawsuit in an Instagram video
Justin Baldoni and his wife candidly spoke about the messy Blake Lively lawsuit drama in an Instagram video on July 8. The actor began, “We have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it’s not because we haven’t had anything to say.” He explained that the couple wanted to address the situation but were waiting for the right opportunity to do so. His wife, Emily, chimed in, “This feels like the moment. There’s so much to say.”
Going further, the couple clarified to the audience that they are going to be careful with what they say, and they are not going to say it all. Emily added that they are feeling “immense gratitude for so many things and so many people that have happened to us.” “Gratitude has saved us,” Justin agreed.
Emily then addressed that their gratitude “doesn’t negate the injustice and the pain” that they have suffered in the last few years. She added, “We’ve had to wrestle with so many things and try to understand so many things, like how could something like this even happen? Let alone disguised as a fight for women. So much to unpack.”
She further stated that the couple has experienced “a lot of trauma,” which the Jane the Virgin star agreed to. The 42-year-old actor-producer confessed that there have been so many “painful things that have been spoken into existence” that created “so much noise.” Moreover, Justin shared that they didn’t want to add to the noise and wanted to let the justice system run its course.
Finally, Emily added, “The truth and the facts have spoken for themselves.” The couple jointly assured their fans that they are healing and spending time with their children.
