Donald Trump gives King Charles a new nickname
Donald Trump recently gave a speech at the Rose Garden Club Lunch, where he also revealed the nickname he suggested to King Charles.
According to the Mirror, the President went on to compliment the renovations that happened at the White House and stated that they have made the residence ‘a beautiful thing.’ In recent times, Trump has revamped the Oval Office with gold decorations and demolished the East Wing to build a ballroom.
He compared the White House’s new look to that of Windsor Castle and recalled his conversation with King Charles. He said, “I said to Charles – it (Windsor Castle) was built around like 900, you know, a long time. But I said to Charles, ‘Who built this? This place is incredible’. ‘William the Conqueror’.” Trump then stated that he asked King Charles about William the Conqueror, who told him that he was “strong and very tough.” The President asserted that the King was also a tough man and should have a new nickname.
He conveyed, “I said: ‘We have to come up with a good name for you, Charles, maybe Charles the Conqueror’.” But Charles denied the suggestion by saying, “No, no, no, please.”
Trump later boasted about transforming the White House and conveyed, “But William the Conqueror built a great building, but we are building one that’s going to top them all.” The White House’s ballroom renovation and security are estimated to cost around $800 million. This has prompted many people online to call out Trump’s administration.
