Kate Middleton showed up at the early rounds of Wimbledon 2026 after a two-year gap. In the last two years, she only attended the finals of the tournament. This included the men’s singles final in 2024, when she received a standing ovation from the crowd, and the women’s and men’s finals in 2025.
At the event this year, Middleton appeared in a smart royal blue jacket over a ribbed white top. She paired it with matching loose-fitted trousers. On her ears, Middleton wore elegant blue stone earrings. She completed the look with glossy tan pumps. For her beauty look, the princess opted for minimal makeup and a high ponytail.
The Princess of Wales mostly stayed out of the limelight in 2024 after announcing her cancer diagnosis that year. This year, Middleton also made a trip to Italy to help kids, which was her first international tour since her cancer diagnosis. It was a two-day tour focusing on awareness of care and education for kids.
A royal aide told PEOPLE how this trip was important for her cancer recovery journey. “[This visit] is an important step in the princess’s recovery journey. She takes great joy from this work,” the source said. They continued, “I think it is only right that her first international trip since her illness is one that is focused on an issue that is committed to championing for decades to come and is a real issue that she wants to shine a spotlight on.”
