Mitch McConnell EMS Call Surfaces After Hospitalization News

Recordings from an EMS call surfaced after Mitch McConnell’s reported hospitalization. According to the recordings, a person was “unconscious” at his home. McConnell’s team claimed that he was hospitalized on June 14. McConnell has held the position of United States senator from Kentucky since 1985, serving the longest term for a state.

Inside the emergency call linked to Mitchell McConnell’s hospitalization

On July 1, several outlets, including The New York Post, reported that emergency dispatch recordings from June 14 referred to an “unconscious” person at Mitch McConnell’s Washington, D.C. home. It mentioned that the person in question may have suffered a heart attack. At the time, an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance was dispatched to his home before 9 am. It was heard that the responders performed CPR on the person suffering the cardiac arrest.

A spokesperson later confirmed that McConnell has been admitted into the hospital and is receiving “excellent care.” However, McConnell’s staff refused to provide any update on his condition or about the earlier surfaced dispatch audio. Rather, spokesperson Stephanie Penn said in an email that the Kentucky senator is “working closely” with staff on Senate business and state matters while continuing his recovery. She also mentioned that McConnell will not vote that week.

This is not the first time McConnell has experienced a health scare; it happened several times in recent years. For instance, in February 2026, he was admitted for more than a week after being diagnosed with “flu-like symptoms.” During that time, a spokesperson provided an update on his health after he was quietly discharged.

They said, “He is feeling better and will be working from home this week on the advice of doctors.” It remained undisclosed as to what exactly his diagnosis was. However, it was known that he was taken to the hospital on Monday evening, February 2, as he experienced some symptoms over the weekend (via PEOPLE).
