Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield Fans May Be in for a Treat After Avengers: Secret Wars

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man journeys may not end where fans expect them to. A new insider report suggests Marvel has bigger plans for both actors beyond Avengers: Secret Wars.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield rumored for two more projects after Secret Wars

Insider MyTimeToShineHello recently claimed that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will appear in two more projects beyond Avengers: Secret Wars.

The insider posted on X that their Spider-Men’s stories “will not end in Secret Wars as there are already plans for them to return in two more projects.” This new claim expands on earlier reports about both actors’ involvement in the upcoming Avengers sequel.

Marvel Studios has already confirmed several major cast members for Secret Wars, which hits theaters on December 17, 2027. The Russo Brothers will direct the film, with Robert Downey Jr. starring as Doctor Doom alongside a massive ensemble cast. The film serves as the final installment of Phase Six and the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga.

MyTimeToShineHello previously reported that Garfield’s Spider-Man “will get to fight an alien in Avengers Secret Wars.” The insider also revealed that Maguire and Garfield “will both return in Avengers Secret Wars but this time they’ll be separated.” That marks a notable shift from No Way Home, where the three Spider-Men shared extensive screen time together throughout the film.

Garfield has continued to deny involvement in upcoming Marvel projects like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday. He responded to those questions bluntly, stating, “No, unequivocally f—ing no.” However, he struck a more playful tone when asked about Secret Wars specifically during an MTV interview. “See, what it is, is this a tell? Or what is it? You’ll find out!” he teased fans.

Garfield also acknowledged the persistence of Spider-Man questions in an interview with Heart Radio. He joked that fans will likely still ask him about the role when he turns 90. Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives on July 31, while Avengers: Doomsday opens on December 18 before Secret Wars closes out the saga.
