The much-awaited Paranormal Activity 8 continues to expand its cast, having now recruited a fan-favorite Tell Me Lies star. The upcoming installment in the found-footage franchise had recently confirmed the casting of Mythic Quest star Chase Yi as its lead. Now, the team behind the film has announced that actor and filmmaker Sonia Mena will be joining Yi in the horror sequel.
Sonia Mena joins Paranormal Activity 8 cast after Chase Yi
According to a recent report published by Deadline, Sonia Mena has officially joined the lineup for the forthcoming Paranormal Activity 8. Details regarding Mena’s role remain under wraps at the time of writing.
Similarly, the movie’s plot has yet to receive an official word from its creators. Paramount and Blumhouse Atomic Monster are financing and producing the horror sequel, with Paramount assuming responsibility for its worldwide release.
Canadian filmmaker Ian Tuason, who established his place in the industry with 2025’s Undertone, has signed on as the director of Paranormal Activity 8. Meanwhile, Oren Peli, who helmed the 2007 original, is returning to the franchise as a producer for Solana Films. James Wan and Jason Blum have also boarded the project as producers under the Blumhouse Atomic Monster banner.
Michael Clear and Judson Scott will be handling executive-producing duties for Blumhouse Atomic under the supervision of Alayna Glasthal. Steven Schneider (for Room 101, Inc.), Dan Slater, and Cody Calahan round out the remaining executive producer lineup.
Sonia Mena received worldwide recognition after securing a role in Hulu’s Tell Me Lies series. However, the multi-faceted artist already had a glittering resume before that, having acted in The Deuce, Invasion, Search Party, and Alternatino, among other notable projects. Mena will now transition into the horror genre with Paranormal Activity 8.
The highly anticipated project is on track to hit the big screen on May 21, 2027.
