Princess Eugenie appeared to sideline her father, Ex-Prince Andrew, on Father’s Day, instead sharing a tribute to her husband, Jack Brooksbank. A royal source has now reportedly claimed, “Eugenie has effectively blacklisted Andrew in full view of the world.”
Princess Eugenie’s snubbing Ex-Prince Andrew on Father’s Day gets royal source’s insights
On June 21, Eugenie shared an Instagram post celebrating her husband, who is father to their two sons, August, 5, and Ernest, 3. One photo showed Brooksbank walking hand in hand with his sons, while another captured him keeping one of his sons entertained in a church pew filled with toys and stickers.
Eugenie lauded her husband’s parenting, calling him “the best there is” and adding that their children “couldn’t ask for a better Dada.” However, she appeared to deliver a public snub to her own father, who was arrested earlier this year on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
A royal source told RadarOnline, “For someone who has always been viewed as fiercely loyal to her parents, the absence of any acknowledgement of Andrew from Eugenie was striking. Nobody expected a lengthy tribute, but the fact that Father’s Day passed without any public mention of him will inevitably be noticed both inside and outside royal circles. Eugenie has essentially blacklisted Andrew in full view of the world.”
The source added that Andrew had become an increasingly sensitive subject within the family, noting a growing recognition that younger royals are keen to focus public attention on their own families and the future rather than past controversies. The source suggested that, whether intentional or not, Eugenie’s actions appeared to signal where her priorities now lie.
Another source suggested the omission highlights evolving dynamics within the royal family. “A few years ago, it would have been difficult to imagine Andrew being overlooked on an occasion like Father’s Day. The reality today is very different. Public associations with him carry obvious risks, and there is a sense that some family members are carefully managing how closely they are linked to him in public.”
In January 2026, the US Justice Department released multiple photographs from the Epstein files. One appeared to show the former Duke of York kneeling on all fours over a female lying on the ground, as per reports by the BBC. He is also accused of raping Virginia Giuffre, one of the most prominent survivors of Epstein’s sexual abuse, when she was a minor, reports ABC.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was stripped of his titles last year over his ties to Epstein, was arrested in February 2026. It marked the first time the former prince was arrested over his links to Epstein, but he was soon released. He denies all allegations.
