King Charles’ reported gesture toward Prince Harry has sparked fresh royal family tensions. A new report claims Prince William strongly disagrees with the King’s latest decision. The alleged disagreement centers on Harry’s expected return to the United Kingdom next month. While Buckingham Palace has not publicly commented, the reported move has once again put the royal family’s internal divisions under the spotlight.
Prince William is reportedly at ‘war’ with King Charles over his decision involving Prince Harry
As per RadarOnline, Charles has offered Harry a place to stay at Buckingham Palace and security support during the trip, which is set for July 6-10. Harry and Meghan are expected in London and Birmingham for Invictus Games-related appearances. The event is tied to the competition Harry created for wounded and sick service members.
The report says the setup could also let Archie and Lilibet visit Britain for the first time in four years. That would mark a rare family moment after years of public fallout and distance. Sources quoted by the outlet said Charles still wants to improve ties with his younger son and keep the line of contact open.
Prince William, though, is said to view the offer with caution. One palace insider told the outlet that “trust was badly damaged” and “cannot simply be rebuilt overnight.” The source also added that the worry is not just this trip, but what might later appear in another book, documentary or TV project tied to the Sussexes. “There is anxiety that greater access could ultimately create opportunities for future books,” the source shared.
A source even went so far as to call it a “war” between father and son over Harry’s access to royal property. Another source said Charles “does not want the door closed on Harry” and sees the offer as both “practical and symbolic.”
The split also shows two different priorities. Charles wants a relationship with Harry and the grandchildren, while William appears focused on protecting the monarchy from another round of disclosures. According to an insider, William has not forgotten the fallout from the Oprah interview, the Netflix series and Harry’s memoir, Spare, and those projects still “shape his thinking.”
