All Shows Canceled by Prime Video in 2026 So Far

Prime Video canceled multiple series throughout the first half of 2026. Teen dramas, superhero spinoffs, and animated comedies all faced the axe during this period.

These decisions arrived as the streamer shaped its upcoming content slate. Prime Video also announced new offerings at its May 2026 upfronts, including The Oprah Podcast.

List of Prime Video’s canceled shows in 2026

The Runarounds

Deadline confirmed on April 3, 2026, that The Runarounds would not return for a second season. The young adult series followed high school graduates from Wilmington, North Carolina, forming a rock band. Outer Banks co-creator Jonas Pate created the show, and all three of that hit’s co-creators executive produced it.

Viewership remained low, with fewer than 2 million hours watched by the final episodes. Despite the cancellation, the real band confirmed they would stay together. “While the TV series may have come to a close, as a band we’re here to stay,” the group wrote on Instagram. In May 2026, Jeremy Yun announced his departure from the band to pursue a non-music career.

Gen V

The Boys spinoff Gen V ended after two seasons. A representative for Amazon MGM Studios confirmed the cancellation in April 2026. The superhero drama followed students at Godolkin University training to become the next generation of heroes.

Executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg addressed the news directly. “While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the Gen V characters’ stories in The Boys Season 5,” they told People.

Kevin

Prime Video also declined to renew Aubrey Plaza’s animated series Kevin after one season. The show followed a cat sent to a New York City animal shelter after his owners separated. Jason Schwartzman and Whoopi Goldberg also voiced characters in the series.

Plaza expressed her disappointment on Instagram. “Very disappointing since we were just getting going,” she wrote.

“I hope the machines won’t ruin everything. Maybe Kevin will find a new owner someday.”
