The supposed feud between “Euphoria” cast members Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya continues to linger even after the series finale was shot recently.
Sources say that the conflicts have surfaced over a number of issues, including Sweeney’s soft spot for Zendaya’s fiancé, Tom Holland, the protagonist of the “Spider-Man” franchise.
Is Sydney Sweeney distancing herself from former co-star Zendaya after Euphoria?
A prime example of the reported rift is how Sweeney shared a photo dump of the series that featured castmates like Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow and even the late Eric Dane – but none with Zendaya.
Sources have jumped in to explain Zendaya’s absence from the photos, saying that it could simply because caused by the fact that the stars did not have any scenes together, never really shared the set, and were busy with their individual production schedules.
Zendaya has allegedly not taken kindly to the fact that Sweeney has displayed her liking for Tom Holland and has been seen openly flirting with the actor when he visited the set. A source explained, “There were tensions way back,” a source said. “It was an open secret that Sydney had the hots for Tom and was flirty with him when he would come to set.” To make matters worse, Sweeney has also liked and commented on a Holland post, calling the Spider-Man star “hot”.
“That did not go down well with Zendaya,” an insider claimed. “They have not really hung out socially since then.”
The castmates have been open about their diametrically opposite political views. Zendaya has been a staunch opponent of President Donald Trump’s policies. In 2020, she shared a post on voting rights, she captioned: “Vote this MF out.”
Sweeney, however, is known to make racist remarks in her American Eagle jeans campaign last summer. She, however, took a surprising turn when she appeared in an interview to clarify the controversy. “I’m against hate and divisiveness,” the actress said.
WHERE DO YOU THINK THIS RELATIONSHIP IS HEADED?
