Sources claim that after watching Jackman and Foster show affection throughout Manhattan, Deborra-Lee Furness chose to address things directly with the Bunheads actress, per Radar Online.
“New York was always Deb’s territory. That’s a huge part of why this whole situation still cuts so deeply for her,” explained an insider.
They further noted that Furness was more than just Jackman’s wife. She was deeply involved in his Broadway world and earned admiration in both social and professional circles. Beyond that, New York’s arts community welcomed her with genuine warmth and affection. Hence, watching Jackman and Sutton Foster publicly display their romance among the same social group is said to be deeply painful and humiliating for her.
“It might be easier to take if Hugh and Sutton weren’t constantly all over each other,” they concluded. Reports suggest the couple’s long marriage collapsed after the Logan actor became inappropriately involved with Foster.
