A new trailer for The Kidnapping of Arabella, starring Chris Pine, is out. It gives viewers a peek into the chaos that unfolds when two unlikely allies cross paths. Alongside Pine, Benedetta Porcaroli and Lucrezia Guglielmino are also in key roles. The Italian drama film is directed by Carolina Cavalli, best known for directing Amanda (2022) and co-writing Fremont (2023).
The official synopsis for the film reads, “Holly spends days at her dead-end job fantasizing about holes in the space-time continuum and wondering where her life went wrong. When she meets Arabella, an eight-year-old rebel hoping to run away from her self-absorbed author father, Holly becomes convinced their meeting is a cosmic sign, and that Arabella is, in fact, her past self sent back for a second chance. The two embark on an unconventional road trip between two lost souls who might be exactly what the other needs.”

What do we see in The Kidnapping of Arabella trailer?
The Kidnapping of Arabella trailer begins with a short but striking glimpse at the bond that Chris Pine’s Orest shares with his daughter Arabella. While the latter expresses her desire to have tacos, Orest almost instantly shuts her down, telling her she can eat at the event they’re attending. Soon after, Arabella wanders away from the event, crossing paths with Holly, and their journey commences.
It is then revealed that a search has begun for Arabella, and Holly tells Arabella that they need to trust each other, as viewers see a montage of their journey together. This includes Arabella and Holly, possibly crashing a wedding, while also making new friends in the process. And while the duo shares a tense moment or two over the course, the trailer ends with Holly expressing her gratitude to Arabella for coming into her life.
Backed by The Apartment Pictures, Elsinore Film, and PiperFilm, The Kidnapping of Arabella is slated to open at the IFC Center in Greenwich Village, New York, on July 17, 2026.
