Cardi B Responds After Latto Confirms What Fans Suspected All Along

Cardi B has apologized publicly to Latto in a lengthy X (formerly Twitter) post after the latter confirmed on a morning show that her new song “Gimme Dat” references Cardi B. Fans have been speculating all along that Latto’s diss track is about the rapper. But the Latto has now confirmed the speculations in an interview on “The Breakfast Club.”

Cardi B claims she wanted to ‘make it right’ with Latto over diss track talks

After Latto confirmed her new song “Gimme Dat” is indeed a diss track and refers to Cardi B, the rapper issued an apology in a lengthy X (formerly Twitter) post. “I truly understand how you feel…and that’s exactly why I chose to apologize publicly because the disrespect became public,” Cardi B mentioned in her post. “On that call I didn’t even mean to call you that, I didn’t mean any harm.. There’s a difference in what I said vs what I meant,” the 33-year-old rapper  said, referencing a leaked call last September, where Cardi B called Latto a “p***y.”

The “Bodak Yellow” singer even said that “it was a heated conversation and I let my mouth get the best of me.” She then explained the reason behind her harsh comment, saying she was “eight months pregnant” and had just released her album “and was extremely overwhelmed and emotional” when the phone call got released. However, she knows it’s not an “excuse.”

The “Up” rapper added that she “genuinely felt bad about what happened” and insisted she made multiple attempts in “2025 and 2026” to contact her after the leaked call. “I spoke with your manager, your sister, and even texted you directly to take full responsibility,” Cardi B said, adding that she “always had love and respect” for her and “always wanted to make it right” with the rapper.

However, seeing how things turned out, Cardi B said, “making it right looks different for the both of us… I wanted to connect with you but you wanted to address it on your album.” The statement comes after Latto confirmed an interview on “The Breakfast Club” on June 4, that she was indeed responding to Cardi on the song “Gimme Dat” from her new album, “Big Mama.”
