Chris Hemsworth may have saved the world as Thor, but even superheroes apparently can’t outsmart airport security. The Marvel star recently shared a relatable parenting mishap that left his family grounded before an international flight.
The actor and his wife, Elsa Pataky, looked back on the travel mishap during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia. What should have been a routine airport check-in reportedly turned into an awkward passport mix-up at the airport.
Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, had a bit of a surprise when they were grounded from flying
Hemsworth revealed that he accidentally brought the wrong passport while traveling with his family. Instead of carrying the correct document for one of his twin sons, he reportedly arrived at the airport holding his daughter India Rose’s passport.
The mistake might have slipped past him, but it didn’t fool airport staff. “I actually went to the airport once, and I had my daughter’s passport instead of my son’s passport,” Hemsworth recalled.
Trying to salvage the situation, the actor jokingly insisted that the passport belonged to the child he was traveling with. According to Hemsworth, the security agent quickly pointed out the obvious problem.
“I said, ‘This is her,’” he remembered. The response was immediate: “That’s a boy.”
Elsa couldn’t resist adding her own commentary during the interview. When Hemsworth suggested the children looked similar enough to confuse, she bluntly replied, “They don’t.”
The funny family story offered a glimpse into life behind the scenes for one of Hollywood’s most recognizable couples. Hemsworth and Pataky married in 2010 and share three children: daughter India Rose and twin sons Sasha and Tristan.
The couple has largely kept their children out of the spotlight, although the kids have occasionally stepped into their parents’ professional worlds. India famously appeared alongside her father in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” while twins Sasha and Tristan recently joined Pataky’s Spanish-language series “The Tribute.”
Despite those opportunities, Hemsworth has previously emphasized that he wants his children to enjoy a normal childhood before pursuing careers in entertainment.
