Nick Pasqual gets life sentence for stabbing ex-girlfriend more than 20 times
Actor Nick Pasqual has been sentenced to 32 years to life in prison for the stabbing of his former girlfriend, Allie Shehorn. His acting credits include Archive 81 and How I Met Your Mother.
The 36-year-old actor was convicted last month of attempted murder, forcible rape, and first-degree burglary. It also included injuring a spouse or partner, according to Deadline. He was also convicted on special allegations that he inflicted great bodily injury under circumstances involving domestic violence.
The jury also found that he personally used a knife during the attack.
Allie Shehorn, who has worked on films including Mean Girls, Babylon, and Rebel Moon, survived the assault.
On Tuesday, Pasqual was sentenced at the San Fernando Courthouse. The sentencing was for multiple felony offenses related to incidents that occurred between January and May 2024. Shehorn testified during the trial.
According to prosecutors, Pasqual entered Shehorn’s Sunland home at approximately 4:30 a.m. on May 23, 2024. Authorities said he stabbed her multiple times before fleeing the scene. He was later arrested at a border checkpoint in Texas. Shehorn underwent emergency surgery and spent several days in the intensive care unit.
“Today’s 32 years to life sentence holds Nick Pasqual accountable for the horrific crimes he committed against someone who once loved and trusted him,” said D.A. Nathan Hochman in a statement. “Allie Shehorn miraculously survived and courageously stood before her abuser in court to testify about the brutality she endured. Her trial testimony was crucial in securing a guilty verdict,” he added.
Hochman also said that Shehorn “gave a powerful victim impact statement.” He added, “This case underscores the painful reality that domestic violence thrives when its victims live in fear and stay silent. It can erupt into life-threatening violence, and far too many victims never get the chance to see their abusers brought to justice.”
