Craig Robinson and Ellie Kemper on what Darryl and Erin are up to 13 years after The Office
13 years later, Craig Robinson and Ellie Kemper have shared their vision for Darryl and Erin’s lives beyond Scranton.
The Office aired for nine seasons between 2005 and 2013. In the sitcom, Robinson played Darryl Philbin, the warehouse worker who leaves Dunder Mifflin to join Athlead, the sports company started by Jim Halpert, played by John Krasinski.
Speaking to PEOPLE at the AT&T Business Small Business Appreciation event in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 27, Robinson said, “I think Darryl is very successful.”
“He made some amazing connections and now he’s an agent to several high-profile sports figures. So we’re going to need a lot of him. We’ve got about three or four,” the 54-year-old added.
Meanwhile, Ellie Kemper played Erin Hannon, who arrives as Dunder Mifflin’s receptionist in Season 5. She goes through an on-again-off-again romance with Andy Bernard, played by Ed Helms, before ending Season 9 with Jake Lacy’s Pete Miller.
“Yeah, I would hope that she has found a partner. And I also, I have a feeling she would be working, I think, I’m not sure if she would still be working in reception, but hopefully a job in hospitality. I do think that she tries to make people happy, whatever way that takes,” Kemper reflected on what Erin’s life might look like in 2026.
The pair also shared what it’s been like reuniting with the cast, as Angela Kinsey, Creed Bratton, and Oscar Nuñez joined them on the panel.
Craig Robinson told the outlet that their bond endures because the cast feels like “family.” They rarely reunite, but when they do, it’s full of joy and reminiscing.
Ellie Kemper agreed, calling the role a “gift” and saying she felt like she’d “won the lottery.”
