New reports indicate that construction work has begun at the White House for the UFC ring expected to be used during an event scheduled for President Donald Trump’s birthday. Six bouts are reportedly planned for the White House South Lawn on June 14, 2026, which also marks the president’s 80th birthday. The event is being promoted as part of celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary, though it also coincides with Trump’s birthday.
White House sees changes as construction for UFC has started
The White House has reportedly started preparations for the UFC ring that is expected to host six bouts on President Donald Trump’s birthday on June 14, 2026. The event has been promoted as part of celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary, while also taking place on Trump’s 80th birthday.
“This will be the greatest show on Earth,” Trump announced earlier in May from the Oval Office while UFC fighters expected to participate in the event stood behind him.
“You know, they’re proud. Like, like, these guys are proud. Nobody more proud than these guys. Sometimes they fight on pride because, you know, they’re injured. They’re hurt. No matter how great you are. You get hit by somebody else that looks like them. It’s very tough. But they have great pride. These people have great pride. The others do too. Enemies have great pride,” the president also said (via The Independent).
Trump also displayed a nighttime rendering of what the event is expected to look like.
Photos taken outside the White House appear to show construction crews beginning to assemble lighting equipment. Cranes were also reportedly seen outside the White House. A video shared on X also appeared to show Trump examining a pillar himself (via @KellieMeyerNews).
UFC Freedom 250’s main event is expected to feature Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje. Trump also stated that there would be 4,000 seats on the South Lawn for the event and that the fight would also be screened in the park across the street.
