In a classic clash between reality stars on their political alignments, the Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause criticized American Idol 5 participant Katharine McPhee on her choice of men that she supports.
Chrishell was responding to a viral TikTok video by creator Jordy Cray that tracked McPhee’s chaotic romantic past. Stause commented on the video, “One day she will find her real inner confidence, but it won’t come until after she is disregarded enough times by the problematic men she backs.” She added, “An insecure woman will steal your man and give the worst advice.”
Katharine McPhee implies she has no idea what Chrishell Stause was referring to with “problematic men” comment
The controversy seems to have arisen from a recent fundraiser hosted by Katharine McPhee and her husband, David Foster, in their Brentwood Park Estate for the former The Hills villain Spencer Pratt, who is running for mayor of Los Angeles.
During the event, Foster played the piano, while McPhee serenaded Pratt with an impromptu version of Tina Turner’s “The Best.” This is where she changed the lyrics to communicate that Spencer Pratt was a better choice than his competitors, Karen Bass and Nithya Raman. Stause, who has been a voluble critic of Pratt on social media, posted on threads.
When a fan asked McPhee what she did to provoke Stause, McPhee replied directly: “Honestly, I have no idea. I am just as confused about this controversy as you lmao” (via Page Six)
In April, Stause posted on Threads, saying, “Can I please implore NO MORE reality star politicians PLEASE! I have nothing against Spencer! In fact I like him on TV! NOT in the government tho. CA please pull it together.”
As McPhee feigns innocence at the obvious allegations, fans are lining up for their share of the gossip.
