Scary Donald Trump Prediction Leaves Podcaster Stunned

Colin Jost made a dark prediction about Donald Trump’s political future while appearing on “SubwayTakes.” The 43-year-old said he believes Trump could try finding a way to remain in office for a third term, even with constitutional rules standing in the way. “I think Donald Trump’s going to get a third term. That’s my prediction,” Jost stated. The conversation became more intense when host Kareem Rahma admitted, “You’re scaring me,” after Jost doubled down on his theory instead of laughing it off.

SNL’s Colin Jost leaves podcaster speechless with take on potential third term for Donald Trump

During the interview, Colin Jost explained that he first started thinking about this scenario back in 2020. He claimed Donald Trump could eventually argue that Democrats “stole” part of his presidency through impeachments and investigations.

The “Saturday Night Live” star jokingly predicted Trump would say, “This is actually my first term, so I get one more,” before adding that the Supreme Court could end up overlooking the Constitution. Jost added that “we just have to prepare for it.” The comments left Rahma visibly uncomfortable as the discussion shifted from comedy into serious political territory.

The U.S. Constitution’s 22nd Amendment limits presidents to two elected terms. Moreover, constitutional scholars have repeatedly stated there is no legal path for Trump to run again in 2028. Law expert Michael Gerhardt also previously described the idea as “completely unprecedented.”

Still, Trump himself has continued fueling speculation. Last year, he declined to fully rule out a third-term scenario when reporters questioned him about it. Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon has also publicly told The Economist that Republicans have long-term plans for Trump beyond 2028, once saying, “Trump is going to be president in ’28.” Trump, who became the oldest president sworn into office at age 78 in January 2025, would be over 80 by the end of his current term.
