Ray J, also known as William Ray Norwood Jr., has landed himself in another legal trouble. American Express has reportedly sued him for an unpaid credit card bill. The bank holding company alleges that he breached the agreed financial terms and conditions, failing to pay $78,704.56 in credit. This lawsuit comes a few months after the same financial company filed a separate lawsuit against him and his alleged company, Tronix Network, for unpaid bills.
Ray J sued by American Express, claims report
PEOPLE recently obtained the complaint filed against Ray J at the Superior Court of California. It claims that Amex has filed a lawsuit against him for allegedly failing to pay a $78,704.56 credit card bill. The documents note that the company Rajun Cajun Inc., which is allegedly linked to Ray J, halted making payments to the concerned bank on or about October 2024.
This is a separate lawsuit filed against the singer, following another one with Amex that was filed in November last year. This lawsuit emerged just a few days before his arrest in Porter Ranch. He was arrested after allegedly pulling a gun on his wife, Princess Love, during a livestream argument. At the time, he was sued for similar charges—alleging breach of contract and failure to pay the institution $139,849.85 in unpaid bills. According to the company, payments on the account were halted in May 2025, and the owed amount remained unpaid (via Complex).
Ray J has been vocal about his financial problems with fans. Last year, he publicly pleaded to fans for help and claimed that his struggles are real and not a publicity stunt. At the time, he revealed that he was alone in Tampa and wanted urgent help during this adversity.
He said on social media, “I need some food, and I need shelter. Just a lot of sh-t that’s happened. And I just wanna get back home and see my kids.” In his caption, he also stated, “Things got bad for me. I just need shelter and a little help. I know there is still good people out in this world.” He also promised to pay back the money to anyone who showed up to help.
