Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck still share a cordial, often friendly, co-parenting relationship, but the Elektra actress had a hard time when Ben Affleck reunited with former flame Jennifer Lopez briefly. In a new interview, the mother of three spoke about how she felt she was in the middle of something when Affleck went back to Lopez.

In a new interview with Flaunt, Jennifer Garner, who shares three children with Oscar-winning star Ben Affleck, spoke about her feelings. She addressed the brief reunion between Ben Affleck and his former partner, Jennifer Lopez.
Garner recalled feeling she was “in the middle of something.” Lopez and Afleck had a very public relationship, with intense coverage around each of their moves. Garner was married to Affleck for 12 years before that.
“I was in the middle of something for a really long time, and it didn’t make sense,” she told the magazine. “There was no way to talk about it.” She added. Garner went on to add, “It’s certainly not my place to talk about him or his experience or anything he’s gone through, or my children or their experience.”
She continued, “But I can say that I feel lighter and happier and more myself [than I have] in a really long time…I think that’s important to know because I really felt like, ‘Oh my gosh, has this family shake-up—has it changed me forever?’ When you’re many years into something, you think, ‘I don’t know how it’s gonna pass.’”
Garner has been quite open about the impact she had when things broke down with Affleck. She addressed this in multiple interviews in the past, including one earlier this year.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, meanwhile, separated less than two years after tying the knot in 2022. Their divorce was finalized in January 2025.
