‘Truly Surreal’: Timothée Chalamet on Best Actor Oscar Nomination

Timothée Chalamet’s pursuit of greatness continues as he makes history at the Oscars, becoming the youngest man to earn his third Best Actor nomination for Marty Supreme. Reacting to the nod, he first thanked Josh Safdie for including him in his vision for the film and later expressed appreciation for everyone involved. Moved by the film’s nine Oscar nominations, Chalamet shared his gratitude and encouraged everyone to dream big. In addition to the Best Actor nod, he is also nominated as a producer in the Best Picture category.

Chalamet recently reacted to Marty Supreme receiving nine Academy Award nominations, including one for his performance in the Best Actor category. He reacted to the nod by saying, “It feels truly surreal to be nominated, what an honor! None of this would have been possible without the vision and big dream Josh had for all of us. This is my dream film, my dream era and dream characters and my heart is filled with so much gratitude.”

He further went on to thank the team, without whom he believes he couldn’t have achieved this milestone. He also thanked the Academy, expressing his gratitude and feeling blessed to be part of such an incredible moment.

Chalamet added, “Today feels like a BIG DREAM. What an exceptional honor from the Academy. Nine nominations for an original film is not something we take for granted. I’m overjoyed to be recognized as both an actor and a producer on this project, and I’m deeply moved by the acknowledgment given to the incredibly hard-working crew.”

The ‘Dune’ actor showered further praise on director Josh Safdie, adding that he’s truly deserving of this “prestigious recognition.” He then gave a shoutout to all his cast members and crew before concluding his speech with “See you MARCH FIFTEENTH. IT’S GO TIME. DREAM BIG” (via The Wrap).
