The long-running internet joke about Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ shower habits is making the rounds once again—and he has officially had enough. The actor recently addressed the resurfaced rumor head-on, calling it “the craziest thing of all time” and clarifying what actually happened behind the viral moment that refuses to disappear.
The renewed buzz traces back to podcast clips from 2021 that have gone viral yet again on social media. While promoting his upcoming FX series “The Beauty” in New York City, Kutcher found himself answering questions not about his latest role—but about his marriage and personal hygiene.
Ashton Kutcher on rumors he and Mila Kunis don’t shower: ‘Craziest thing of all time’
In an interview with People, Kutcher traced the chatter back to Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. During that conversation, Mila Kunis shared that she grew up without consistent access to hot water, which influenced her childhood bathing habits. Kutcher later joked that he focused on washing essential areas daily.
“That ’70s Show” star firmly stated, “We made a comment at one point, and people were like, ‘Does he stink?’” He said the takeaway was wrong. “There was a comment on a podcast, so long ago….I shower, I go to the gym, I shower,” Kutcher added.
Meanwhile, his castmates backed him up during the chat. Anthony Ramos said while giggling, “I can confirm my boy showers”. Still, the online joke has followed the couple for years. They share two kids, Wyatt and Dimitri, and fans keep circling back.
Back in 2021, the pair also explained their kid rule in plain terms. “If you can see the dirt on them, clean them,” Kutcher said. “Otherwise, there’s no point,” he added. Even so, they were talking about soap, not skipping hygiene.
However, Kutcher has been training for “The Beauty,” where he plays The Corporation. He said he got into “Speedo mode” for shirtless scenes. “I got a trainer — his name is Robbie Egan — and Robbie comes to my house at five o’clock in the morning before I start work and beats me up,” he said.
