A Flume And Skillrex Collaboration Is Coming

Hugely popular up and coming Australian DJ/producer Flume is rumoured to be teaming up with Skrillex in the near future.

Some sort of collaboration between the two was first rumoured back when Skrillex announced last year he would be heading Down Under for the Shore Thing and BeachLife festivals, telling Triple J at the time the two were already mixing creative juices.

“Flume is coming in to the studio tomorrow… I’ll be seeing him tomorrow, so maybe we’ll make something, who knows,” Skrillex said in late December. I mean technically What So Not is the artist on the (Shore Thing) line up, so maybe we can all do something together.”

A Flume/Skrillex release appears now appears imminent according to US promoter Gary Richards.

Richards, the creator of the electronic boat cruise Holy Ship, leaked the news in an interview with New Times Miami.

“Skrillex is what they call an “OG.” He hasn’t missed a year (of Holy Ship) and has since worked with fellow shipmate Boys Noize, as well as just wrapped up a two-track collab with Flume.”

Flume is also all but confirmed to be teaming up with Major Lazer at some point in 2014 after both acts got to know one another a little better as part of the 2014 Big Day Out.

Major Lazer’s Walshy Fire recently spoke to InTheMix about a Flume team up, “Yeah man, believe it or not we’re actually leaving Flume’s house right now, we had a nice time there. We just went over to his apartment for a BBQ. He’s an amazing producer, great guy, so, for sure.”
