Some major festival announcements took place on Monday as Groovin The Moo released dates and venue details, plus a new stop on the national tour, while major festival Summadayze has been cancelled.
Groovin’ The Moo will visit Oakbank, South Australia for the first time next year, in addition to the usual regional destinations of Maitland, Canberra, Bendigo, Townsville and Bunbury.
Groovin’ The Moo has become one of Australia’s quickest growing festivals in addition to being the top regional festival since debuting in 2005.
2013 featured The Kooks, Flume, Tame Impala and The Temper Trap at a sold-out number of legs. Tickets for next year’s event will go on sale Wednesday, January 29 at $100.

Summadayze To Be Cancelled
Last week news emerged the parent company of Future Music Festival, Future Entertainment, had entered liquidation a few days after joining forces with Mushroom Group. Although Future Music will go ahead in 2014 unaffected, the future of Summadayze will not be as kind according to Tone Deaf.
Mushroom Group owner Michael Gudinski recently predicted a rough forecast for the future of Summadayze.
“I’d heard there were difficulties after this year’s Summadayze but I didn’t really get a sense of the scale of it until we started due diligence, a couple of months ago…,” he said.
“We’ve got a massive job ahead with the Future Music Festival. We want to make it a much better experience for the people who are going. We’re looking long term.”
Future will go ahead- dates are already set for 2014 and an expansion of the Asian leg of the tour extended.
