It’s been some time since we first heard the announcement that Outkast’s Big Boi was teaming up with Phantogram, the experimental electronic duo out of Greenwhich NY, to release a new EP under the moniker “Big Grams“. But now the time has come for this collaboration to hit the streets, and give fans the unique sound they’ve all been patiently waiting for.
The album officially drops on 9/25, but you can get the first single “Fell In The Sun” on iTunes right now. After sampling this first track, and personally loving the hell out of it, I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album. It’s exactly the type of sound you would expect from Phantogram coming off their sophomore album, and Big Boi only adds to the energry and excitement of the song.
Sara Barthel keeps the intro and chorus classy with her crooning vocals, and Josh Carter never disappoints with his guitar and production prowess.
Take a listen for yourself. There’s no way you won’t like it if you’re a fan of either of these two artists.
