HTC One Mini 2 A Telstra Exclusive

The HTC One Mini 2 has finally launched in Australia well ahead of the rest of the world, but with a catch- it’s a Telstra exclusive.

HTC’s latest smartphone officially hit shelves on Tuesday some four months ahead of its global unveiling, featuring 4.5-inch, 1280×720 display, a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and a 13 megapixel camera.

The One Mini 2 will also support the new rollout of Telstra’s 700MHz spectrum band, expected to launch nationally next year and allow for coverage over longer distances and greater penetration into dense buildings.

Despite locking in the HTC One Mini 2 as a Telstra exclusive, the telco is offering the smartphone at a discounted $528 outright, down from the RRP of $599, or available on a 24-month $55 Mobile Accelerate plan (1.5GB of date and unlimited SMS/MMS) plus a $5 monthly handset repayment.

HTC’s early Australian release has beat out a number of upcoming smartphone announcements expected at this weekend’s IFA tradeshow in Berlin.
