Some rumors aren’t even worth considering. With Mortal Kombat X, one must be especially trepidatious when considering the status of rumors, given that the game’s creator and director, Ed Boon, is one of the most infamous trolls on the internet. But, when presented with the latest Mortal Kombat X “leak,” even he couldn’t hide behind his often wry grin.

Now, no one is saying that Skinnok, Liu Kang or Noob Saibot absolutely won’t be in Mortal Kombat X. In fact, a good case can be made for all three of them (Liu Kang purely by reputation, Shinnok because of the way the last Mortal Kombat ended, and Noob Saibot because of his unclear fate). If they are in the game, though, this leak is not the reason.
For starters, I could make a comparable sample using MS Paint. Also, the two squares on the right are blank, where a recent Twitch stream by NetherRealm showed that Goro is in the bottom right corner. The overall lack of attention to detail makes this embarrassing to even try to pass off as a “leak.”
It’s safe to say: don’t believe everything you read on the internet.
