Xbox One to Receive a Big Price Cut Over Holiday Season

Microsoft is laying down the gauntlet to Sony this holiday season, dropping the Xbox One’s price to $349 in the US.

The price cut is applicable to special edition bundles of the console, with both the Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Bundle, which includes Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Dance Central Spotlight, and Xbox One Sunset Overdrive Bundle, which includes a digital download of Sunset Overdrive along with a pristine white Xbox One console, retailing for $349 from November 2nd, while the Xbox One Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Bundle, which comes with a custom console, custom controller and limited edition exoskeleton, will retail for $449.

The deals will be available from November 2nd to January 3rd, 2015, which means that this will be Microsoft’s Black Friday Xbox One deal. Sony has yet to announce whether or not they’ll be issuing a price cut for the PS4 over the holiday season, though it’s likely that they’ll want to compete with Microsoft in this regard.

The Xbox One’s latest exclusive title Sunset Overdrive has been receiving almost unanimous praise from critics, with many hailing it as one of the best reasons to pick up the console at the moment; our own Jonathan Leack branded it an “exceptional choice for anyone looking for a reason to smile.”
