Gamescom 2014: WoW: Warlords of Draenor Trailer is Amazing; Release Date Announced

Today, Blizzard unveiled the official trailer for World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor. As with previous trailers from the studio, it’s good… real good.

Serving as an introduction to the new expansion which is centered around traveling back to the time of Draenor’s thriving existence, Grommash Hellscream and Mannoroth are shown battling viciously. Although that might sound familiar, it’s actually a separate battle from the one that would leave Mannoroth defeated. In essence, this trailer shows what time travel is capable of delivering for World of Warcraft‘s next expansion, where history will be revisited by players due to Garrosh Hellscream’s opening of a time portal.

Warlords of Draenor has also gotten an official release date, which just so happens to be the Thursday after this year’s BlizzCon: November 13th. This release date is the same one that Wrath of the Lich King had in 2008. Hopefully that means good things for the game.

There is a Warcraft film currently in production, which is aiming for a release in March 2016. Similar to Warlords of Draenor, it’ll be set early in the IP’s timeline. It’ll utilize a mixture of real actors with heavy post-production CGI to deliver what’ll hopefully be around two hours of epic Warcraft film action like these World of Warcraft trailers.
