Ubisoft Plans to Make Watch Dogs a Long-Running Franchise

For those of you question how much longevity Watch Dogs will have, Ubisoft has good news.

In an interview today between CVG and Alain Corre, Ubisofts Executive Director, it was stated that the games developers are planning on creating more installments for the series. This, of course, is supposing that Watch Dogs is well received and gains a large amount of support, much like the Assassin’s Creed series. Corre went on to say a few more things in regards to the hopes of a new series for the gaming public:

We are trying to create worlds that bring immersion to consumers. When there are a lot of consumers happy and playing our games we’ve done our job. We have explored the Assassin’s Creed universe and are continuing to expand this, it’s super rich, our playground is history. But we wanted to also try and offer experiences for other types of games. Watch Dogs is one of them, when the studio came up with the idea many years ago they had a very good pitch and videos, we’ve seen how it’s come along so well and we’re hoping we can convince consumers that it can offer something different, then we can build and expand on that for future iterations

The game has already gained a lot of positive attention and has a substantial amount of pre-orders. If this trend continues, then all of you gamers out there can look forward to more stealth action from Ubisoft in the future. With Grand Theft Auto and other open-world series taking multiple years to finish development cycles, more games of their kind from Ubisoft are certainly welcomed.
