Lucy Lawless Will Guest Star In ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’

During its first season on ABC, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” brought in several genre veterans for guest appearances on the show. For its upcoming second season, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is keeping that tradition alive.

TV Guide is reporting that Lucy Lawless has been signed to a guest role in “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” although Marvel and ABC haven’t revealed whom Lawless will portray or how many episodes that she will appear in.

Lawless is best known for playing Xena in “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” and in her own spinoff TV series, “Xena: Warrior Princess.” Lawless also had a recurring role on “Battlestar Galactica” and a starring role in the first two seasons (as well as the prequel) of “Spartacus” on STARZ.

This isn’t Lawless’ first brush with a comic book property. Lawless had a cameo in the very first Spider-Man movie and she voiced Wonder Woman in the animated adaptation of Justice League: The New Frontier. More recently, Lawless has appeared in “No Ordinary Family” and “Parks and Recreation.”

“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2 will premiere on Tuesday, September
