Freddie Prinze Jr., David Oyelowo Rumored To Join ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ Voice Cast

Approximately one year from now, “Star Wars: Rebels” is expected to make its debut. But the voice cast is still being selected.

According to The Hollywood ReporterFreddie Prinze Jr., David Oyelowo, Vanessa Marshall, Taylor Gray and Steven Jay Blum are “in the process of being cast” in the leading roles of “Star Wars: Rebels.” Oyelowo has recently been rumored to be up for a role in Star Wars Episode VII and he is currently appearing in Les Daniels’ The Butler. Prinze has previously starred in the two Scooby Doo films and lent his voice to the Mass Effect video game series. 

Marshalll is a voice over veteran who has starred as Black Canary on “Young Justice” and Black Widow on “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” while Gray is a relative newcomer to animation who starred in “Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures.” Blum has worked extensively in animation and video games, with “Transformers Prime,” Call of Duty: Origins, God of War: Ascension and Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox to his credits. 

All that is currently known about “Star Wars: Rebels” is that it will be another CGI animated show and it will take place between Episodes III and IV as the Galactic Empire expands its control. Dave Filoni (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars”), Greg Weisman (“Young Justice”) and Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class) are the primary creative team bring “Rebels” to life,
