Moon Bloodgood on ‘Falling Skies’ Season 3

Do you know anything about what’s going to happen next season?

I’ve been hearing. Yeah, I have some ideas, only with my character but you just know that I don’t die. I’m definitely going to be different. This year’s going to be different for me.

When we see the finale, is that going to set up what’s coming next year?

For me, yes. But very, again, very limited information. It’s not going to tell you a lot because by the way, I don’t know a lot. They didn’t tell me a lot.

Whenever you get a script that’s a game changer, do you always know you can do it? When they tell you they’re writing this for you, do you have the confidence to know you can deliver what they’re asking?

No, but I don’t think any actor has the confidence that they’re going to be able to always deliver. Sometimes we read it and we think, “I’m not sure if I agree with this” and then we look at it deeper and usually we end up agreeing with them. Sometimes we call them and we voice our opinions that we want something a little different but usually they have a good way of keeping us on track. It’s not that they know our characters better than we do but they can see the overall picture sometimes better than we can.

Did you get out of a lot of the physically intense stuff this year because of your baby?

Yes. I don’t tend to do a lot of physical stuff on this show. It’s just not the nature of my character, but yeah, being pregnant, I had a body double the whole time.

But last year, wasn’t there more journeying so everyone had to be physical?

Everyone had to man up and be able to run a mile or two. Then we got more stationary with Charleston, as you would, and I don’t know what’s going to happen next year. I have no idea what journey we take.

Have you been able to get comfortable having a third and fourth season, because you were on some wonderful shows that didn’t go past a season?

It’s actually, to be honest with you, really, really reassuring. It’s been really nice to know you’re on a show that’s lasted this long. I’ve been on so many shows and you’re like, “Oh, it got canceled and it hurts so bad. This is the first time where it’s lasted. We’re going into our fourth season. That’s a big deal. It’s like dog years. We have a fourth season, what? I wonder if you do the statistics, how many shows go to a fourth?

Do you ever think about what would have been happening on “Journeyman” by now?

Oh, I love “Journeyman.” That was special. Again, where would they have gone with that? And I run into Kevin Falls, because he has a show on TNT. I know I was from the 1920s so there probably would’ve been a lot of flashbacks.

There’s word that the next Terminator will be a reboot.

Is Christian [Bale] in it?

No, Arnold is back.

So no Christian or Sam Worthington?

I don’t believe so.

Wow, all new except for Arnold.

Was your understanding that the future storyline was supposed to continue?

Yes, yes, because Christian was going to be the new John Connor and I guess that’s just stopped dead in its tracks. He would have been a great continuation of John Connor.

Had you heard any story ideas for where a future Terminator franchise would have gone?

No, but I just went online and I was sad that I wasn’t going to be a part of it but just for whatever reason, our whole Terminator family, that’s just not the direction they’re going in. I haven’t heard anything. You’re telling me more than I know.

I think when Arnold Schwarzenegger says he’ll do another one, they have to figure out how that’s going to work.

I’m kind of curious what they’re going to do. I really have no information on Terminator.
