The 33rd Annual Razzies (Dis)-Honor Twilight: Breaking Dawn: Part 2

The 33rd Annual Razzie Award nominations came in today, and as usual, this year’s nominations favor the easiest targets imaginable: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 2 racked up a whopping ten nominations, one in each category. Other big losers include the box office dud Battleship, directed by Peter Berg and co-starring Rihanna (both nominated), the Adam Sandler comedy That’s My Boy, the Tyler Perry comedy Madea’s Witness Protection and the cast of “Jersey Shore” who, despite only having about two minutes of screen time, eked out a nomination for The Three Stooges because… well, they’re the cast of “Jersey Shore,” and are therefore the easiest targets imaginable.

The only big surprise, as near as we can tell, is that the Razzies decided – unlike the rest of the world – that John Carter, now one of the most notorious bombs of all time, was actually a pretty good movie. Despite its high visibility and critical drubbing, Andrew Stanton’s sci-fi epic got off scot-free, without a single Razzie nomination to its (dis)credit.

The complete list of nominees is as follows. The 33rd Annual Razzie Awards will be presented on Saturday, February 23rd, the day before the Academy Awards (as opposed to last year’s Razzie Awards, which were – apparently quite temporarily – shifted to April Fool’s Day).
