The Dead Speak In New Game of Thrones Season 6 Teaser Trailer

“What do we say to the God of Death?” “Not today.”

Death is never far from away in the world of HBO’s epic fantasy series, Game of Thrones. Through the first five seasons, several beloved characters met their untimely ends. Some died by the blade, and some by treachery. But in the end, death claimed them all, despite their resolve.

Ahead of the series premiere of Vinyl, HBO unveiled a new teaser trailer for Game of Thrones season 6 that takes place in the Hall of Faces of the Faceless Men. Many dead Starks are are seen and heard among the faces, including Ned, Robb, Catelyn, and even Jon Snow, in a pretty telling piece of trolling from HBO. However, the dead aren’t limited to the Starks, as the cruel child King, Joffrey Baratheon is also heard. And many familiar faces are also among the Faceless Men’s collection even though they haven’t died…yet.

The teaser is big on mood, but it doesn’t actually have any new footage from the upcoming season. For the first time since the series began in 2011, even readers of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels don’t know what’s coming next. The Game of Thrones TV series has finally caught up to the novels, and the sixth season will take the story in new directions as the show heads towards its endgame.

Game of Thrones season 6 will premiere on Sunday, April 24 on HBO, HBO Now, and HBO Go.
