Mae Young Classic Results (9/19): Mia Yim, Toni Storm Advance

The third wave of the Mae Young Classic‘s First Round has concluded with two grudge matches settled, a WWE return, and a young star looking to make an impact.

The show opened with the return of Kaitlyn after a four-year absence against India’s own Kavita Devi. Kaitlyn’s ring rust did not become a deterrent as she pulled through in a strong showing against the powerful Devi:

The second match featured rivals of the UK circuit as last year’s semifinalist Toni Storm squared off against the fashionista known as Jinny. This hard-hitting affair showed that there was no love lost, but Storm’s determination proved to be the winning factor in their contest:

The third match features two young talents with similar backgrounds as Xia Li going one-on-one Karen Q. The fast-paced strike fest showed the growth of the young Li, developing after her first match last year with a furious run to beat the independent standout:

And the main event featured two rivals that has traveled the world together so much, it has been dubbed “The Frenemies World Tour” between Allysin Kay and Mia Yim. In a physical grudge match that stemmed off of a broken nose, Yim pulled off a big victory against her longtime foe:
