NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis was a recent guest on The Jim Ross Report podcast when WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross expressed some concerns about the upcoming All In event,

“I hope there will be some management in the matches where there’s not ubiquitous duplicity. I don’t need to see the same spots, the same setup, the same intervals in a hockey fight always in the middle of the ring blah, blah, blah. ‘I gotta get my forced spots on the outside in.’ Because it takes away from the individuality. Sameness is not good on the big show. Everybody should create their own stage and respect what goes on after them. There’s a priority for the match order and as the matches get deeper in the card, the main event should get priority with what they want to use, so everybody’s not using a table, everybody’s not diving over the railing or whatever. You know what I mean, no duplicity.”

Aldis agreed,

“I’ve always been very vocal about that and I do think there is a bit of an issue with that in my generation overall. Certainly that’s a leadership thing. I would say two things to that. From what I’ve seen at Ring of Honor, Cody [Rhodes] very much takes on that leadership role as best he can and treads that line very carefully because obviously you can earn yourself heat very quick, if you’re not careful in that way; but, he does it the right way, in my opinion.”

Aldis then reveals that former WWE Superstar Joey Mercury will be backstage at the September 1st All In event,

“Hopefully this might set your mind at ease. I think I’m ok to say this and if I’m not, sorry guys. I know that Joey Mercury is gonna be backstage and that to me is a brilliant move. I’ve worked with Joey and am friends with him and I think he’s a brilliant guy and obviously we know that he had some personal issues; but, I can tell you he’s working through it. He’s working hard and I really believe there’s very few people available in that spot that are as valuable as Joey.”
